Dr. Saldivar is a seasoned Clinical Molecular Geneticist with a wide range of experience including germline testing in oncology and pediatric syndromes, somatic and liquid biopsy testing of solid tumors, non-invasive prenatal testing, and pharmacogenetics. Currently, he provides Laboratory and Medical Director services to a number of biotech/diagnostic companies in the San Diego and Bay areas of California. Previously, he served as Chief Medical Officer at AltheaDx overseeing clinical utility studies in pharmacogenetics. Dr. Saldivar helped introduce and advance the field of non-invasive prenatal testing at Sequenom Laboratories in San Diego, CA, where he initially joined as a Lab Director and ultimately served as Vice President of Clinical Services and Medical Affairs. Prior to this, Dr. Saldivar practiced for nine years as Director of Molecular Diagnostics for the department of Pathology at the City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, CA, a National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he attained a rank of Clinical Associate Professor.
